We spent a glorious week at this resort from November 17-25, 2000. We flew into Punta Cana, after a 1 hour delay, we flew to Santo Domingo. From there it was a 2 hour bus ride. We were hot, tired, hungry, thirsty and grumpy when we arrived. We were greeted with cold fruit drinks upon our arrival at the Coral Canoa. The staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. Food was varied, something for everyone's palate. Bottled water was left in our room on a daily basis, rooms were always cleaned to perfection. Lots of towels and fresh flowers on the bed daily. Large shallow pool, with a swimup bar, surrounded by plenty of chaise lounge chairs. The beach was clean, again plenty of chairs. The sea was warm. The 'locals' were not allowed on the beach in front of the resort so we were never disturbed. Lots of daily activities for those who wished to participate in them. Extra curricular activities were offered at a price. Snorkeling and Crazy Wheels was our favourite. We had hot sunny weather everyday. The only downfall was that the 'bank' located in the resort would only exchange your money for pesos. They will not buy the pesos back at the end of the trip so we were careful not to get an excess amount of pesos (our travel guide told us this when we arrived at the resort so we were aware of it) Nightly shows were a bit amateurish (staff at the resort put these on) but enjoyable. Most of the staff spoke Spanish, English, French, Italian and German. In addition to the large buffet, the resort houses a Seafood, Italian and Mexican restaurant. The grounds are beautiful, flowers and rivers run throughout the resort. Extremely clean. Kids' Club wiht activities, pool, and playground kept the children preoccupied. We would visit this resort again and definitely recommend it.

I commented on our experience in my description of the resort. All in all it was an excellent experience. Depending on the time of year, you may have the option of flying into La Ramano Airport which is only 30 minutes from the Coral Canoa. We found the bus ride too long (they drive like maniacs in DR).
