We spent a week at this resort in April 2003. This is a 3 1/2 star resort, and I was pleasantly surprised and the size of the resort and the amount of activities/amenities etc.

The rooms were a little tired looking, but were quite large, clean and comfy. We did not spend much time in the room so the decor doesn't matter to me. There was a hairdryer, satellite t.v. fridge for keeping our bottled water cold. No complaints.

The beach was much better than I had expected. I had been warned that the beach was small and the sand and water was not great. We walked the beach every morning and I think Playa Naco had the best stretch of beach on the Playa Dorada complex. The water was green and warm and just beautiful. It was hot! No trouble getting a beach chair, and a bar and restaurant was located right there. The burgers were a great lunch and the drinks were yummy!

The Yacht Club served great buffets, breakfast was awesome. The best omelets! There were also three a la carte restaurants, we booked them the morning we wanted to eat there. I guess in high season you may have to book earlier. The Tex Mex had great chicken fajitas. The Italian was not bad, but a little boring - I had tomato sauce on spaghetti, nothing special. The Caribbean Grill I did not try, but heard it was good.

The service was excellent, very friendly staff. We had no trouble doing our excursions, the taxis outside the hotel were great. Always negotiate your price before you go! We would set our price, set a time to be picked up and pay upon our return to the hotel.

Overall, great time for the money spent, I can't wait to go back to DR and would love to stay at Playa Naco again!

Myself and my fiancee went to stay @ playa naco for 3 weeks in may/june,Frankly it was the worst holiday i have ever had.The beach was ideal but the rooms were damp the bathroom sink was hanging off the wall and the woodwork had bug infestations.
We were allocated another room with a sea view this room was much better but in the new room allocated we had another bug infestation and we also had cockroaches.
The service was very poor the staff very slow and didnt understand much english @ all.The buffet food was terrible, not much choice all the same food also there were flies on the food and birds just swooping in and helping thereselves with none of the staff taking any measures to stop this.
The meats were not fully cooked and as a result of this i have came back in the last fortnight with food poisioning, and therefore will not be going back to this resort again.Lindy

My wife and I have stayed many times at the Playa Naco Resort. You really have to try hard to make the staff unfriendly towards you. They are super people, but you need to understand that Dominicans, like many other people don't respond well to demanding tourists.
We always recived great service at this hotel.

I stayed at the Playa Naco Resort in March of 2004. I had such a good time. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the resort. The beach and water was beautiful as well. I am 18 and I went down with my family and I was afriad that there wasn't going to be much for me to do there, but there was lots of things for people my age to do. The Disco was very fun and so were the other bars that were located just outside of the resort. Hemmingways was very fun. I wasn't that impressed with the food. The Mexican restaurant was the best place to eat. Try the faigitas! Overall, I thought this was a very fun place to go,it was paradise.

We have stayed at Playa Naco about twelve times for a total of 20 to 25 weeks. Also have stayed at other resorts in Playa Dorada, SantoDomingo and Cabarete. Playa Naco is our favorite. Perhaps it is because we are well known and have so many friends at Playa Naco, but our service has always been great and we have always found the staff to be very friendly and eager to please. As for the food, I prefer the restaurants, especially the Caribbean Grille, to the buffet.

I stayed at Playa Naco in March 2003 with three other friends for a week.
I found the rooms to be large as we had a one bedroom apartment.

The grounds were beautiful and the beach was great.

The food was average but most of all I found the service terrible. I would not stay there again as they were not that friendly. I as my other travel partners feel this way that we wrote the general manager a letter.

I have stayed at 6 other resorts in Puerta Plata and this was not one of my best experiences.
