When my husband and I moved here, I was not expecting to find any "top notch" restaurants. Figured all the "better" establishments would be nicely decorated, but with nothing more than high prices for mediocre food. What a wonderful surprise the Cosa Nostra has turned out to be! Owned and operated by Americans, this place not only has a very pleasing decor, but also, easily, some of the best food in the Dominican Republic. The well trained and friendly staff help make your dining experience one to remember. You can also relax and enjoy your meal without having to worry about where and how it has been prepared. I have seen the kitchen. The owner/operator, Barbara Paine will be happy to let you take a tour as she has nothing to hide. This has to be the cleanest restaurant kitchen on the island!
An excellent five course meal, including a cocktail or two, appetizer, soup, salad, entree and dessert ranges anywhere from RD$700 to RD#1100 depending on your entree. We are attempting to try a different entree everytime we go, but I must confess that we do have our favorites; Imported Premium Gold Angus Sirloin, New York Strip, Filet Mignon, Veal, Dover Sole, Sea Bass, and Lobster. The pastas and salads are also wonderful. Actually, the entire menu is a delight, and for the more adventurous, give your waiter a few guidelines and ask to have chef Aquiles prepare a meal of his choosing. It's bound to be a memorable dining experience.
The wait staff is bi-lingual and menus are available in English for those of us who are non-Spanish speaking.
