This was a wonderful vacation. The staff could not have been more attentive ,friendly ,and kind. This was after the terrible hurricane and although some things were not available most activities were great. We had previously been to Jack Tar village (twice) on the North Coast..so this was a new experience. Unfortunately, for a week in Paradise ,my wife sufferd a month in hell. She was diagnosed with salmonella poisoning the day after we returned. Our Local health Unit has indicated to us that she likely contracted this at the hotel...they have only responded by saying that they are not responsible and that it could not have happened because of their buffet, food etc....we disagree and forwarn people that if this company does not take responsibility for this incident ,,well then do not go to their establishment...a simple apology ..or even a gesture of goodwill would have done wonders to our acceptance of an unfortunate incident..but now I will post wherever I can to warn tourists to avoid any resort or establishment associated or owned or operated by Amhsa marina hotels and resorts...also beware of Sunwing vacations from Canada ...and make sure you check out all your options and what is supposed to be include in your all inclusive..."Good Luck" and buyer beware!!!

We stayed at the Grand Paradise for Thanksgiving 2004 (8 days) and, overall, were very pleased with our vacation. The weather was beautiful, and the beaches fabulous. Our room was always clean, and all of the resort employees were extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, one of our party became very sick after eating at the Italian restaurant (which is terrible, anyway), and it was obviously food poisoning. I took her to the resort physician, who gave her antibiotics. We insisted that she not be charged for his services, and got no argument from the hotel. We found out, from talking to other guests, that many other people were sick as well. My mom and I had no problems; probably just luck of the draw.
Other than this, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are considering going back for Thanksgiving 2005.
