If you want to relax come to this piece of Paradise in Las Galeras. No there is no corny animation staff in fact there is nothing much to do in this town so I would recomend you coming here accompanied, it's ideal for honeymooners.

The Bad:
1) Getting here, I drove in from La Romana so it was about a 6 hour drive and the road was ok sometimes but there were some pretty bad sections. What was funny is that since were close to elections season we ran accross all the politicians signs offering "Villas & Castillas" while we were running into pot holes. Next time I will travel to Sabana de la mar and then take a boat to Samana.
2) This town has practically no night life so if you want to come down here and Party bring your friends with you.
3) I found the price a bit high, considering that you can get an all- inclusive plan for US$10.00 more at the Casa Marina Bay resort close by.

The Good:
1) The food is "excelente" my friend. Although we only had breakfast which is included in the $70 p/p, the a la carte breakfast consisted of freshly squeezed orange juice or pinneaple juice, eggs however you wanted them, french toast , pancakes, etc. The butter and the marmalade was homemade and the service was great too.
The food in the restaurants in town and at playa rincon beach was great, and also a good price. You can eat Lobster & Shrimp on the grill and they cook it right in fron t of your eyes. I would recomend the pizzeria and The Rubi restaurant. Also go to the one at Playa Rincon.

2) From Las Galeras you are closer to Samana than Las terrenas so you can visit the whales, go snorkeling (right in front of the hotel there's a beautiful reef) or visit the gorgeous beaches. Fronton, La playita, Colorado beach and Playa Rincon. You can also take a trip to El Limon Waterfall. there are many excursion choice at the hotel lobby. I would personally recommend the 4 wheelers, but not the ones you go woth the tour guide, rent them yourself, get a map and start discovering.

I would most surely come back to this place again!
