This is a fairly new resort which we found to be a great value compared to most all inclusive resorts. We stayed there the second week of October 2006 and the rates per person were same as double occupancy which meant that all three of us got our own rooms without paying more than if we had shared.
The resort is less than a year old so everything was in good condition. They have a very good selection of restaurants as well as 24 hour service. Quality of food was above average for an all-inclusive deal.
The beach was nice as to be expected in Punta Cana.
The service including the Spa was excellent as everyone was very accomodating. Sometimes all inclusive resorts are not as great as the Paradisus. Thsi should not be confused with the Paradiscus Punta Cana as that is different from the Paradiscus Palma Real.
All considered this is a good place for couples. As three single guys we found ourselves looking outside the resort for entertainment which we found without any issue or fears.
The only small issue we had with the rooms was a musty smell due to the humidity and they promptly changed rooms without any problem.
