having spent the past 7 years staying on the the playa dorada complex at puerta plata villages i was somewhat shocked at the standards of the fun royale in brief the rooms wrer infested with bugs,air cons were not working or faulty,the food was sub-standard and boring in choice,staff were rude with a tendancy to ignore you and blatently asked for tips,i caught nunerous staff smoking and drinking on duty,there was no contol of certain guests who were by far the worst for drinking all day,there were two break ins whilst i was there with large vamounts of money taking even though the hotel boasts 24hr securityin general i was glad to come home so be aware when booking this hotel.

Wow chef!
I've been to Fun Royale over 10 times & there is 100 reasons why.
I found none of the things you mentioned.
You must be one of those people who expect 5*
for the price of 1*.
Fun Royale has some of the friendliest, helpfull people in the DR working there.
If I could, I'd live there!
I have NEVER been asked for a tip, seen ANY staff smoking or drinking or refused ANYTHING we have asked for!(within reason)
I think it should be raised to a 4*.
