Can a non-resident sue a Dominican in the DR?
Can a non-resident sue a Dominican in the DR?
Solution
A nonresident cannot sue a Dominican national or a legal resident in court without posting a bond, usually quite high. A legal resident is exempt from this requirement. The amount of the bond varies wildly, depending on the court. A bond is
not necessary if you have real estate duly registered (Certificado de
Título) in your name or in certain matters such as labor issues.
