If I marry a Dominican, how do I get a Dominican passport?
If I marry a Dominican, how do I get a Dominican passport?
Solution
If you are a woman and marry a Dominican man, you can apply for
citizenship by way of the Ministry of Interior and Police. Because you
will only be dealing with one government department, the procedure has
less steps than applying for residency via the Migration Department.
The process is also simpler because there is no "provisional
citizenship," as in the case of "provisional residency," the
intermediate step to getting the full residency. If you are a man that
marries a Dominican woman, the shorter citizenship procedure does not
apply. Once you get citizenship, you can apply for a passport. Getting
a passport is a relatively easy procedure (Tel 809 532-7373). For more
