A breeze to return to city
The governmental decision to only charge tolls to exit Santo Domingo brought relief to weekend traffic. Thousands that returned to the city after spending the Christmas holidays in internal cities and beach destinations did not encounter the usual long lines at the tolls. The plan to decongestion the highways at peak hours worked. Returning travelers now can speed through the toll booths, avoiding the long lines that would accumulate at the tolls at peak return times. Travelers using the eastbound Las Americas, the northbound Duarte Highway and the westbound 6 de Noviembre now pay RD$30 in one go.

Pierre Schnebelen, who was responsible for the launching of Cap Cana in the east coast, announced that the partnership with Miami-based Resorts of the World, LLC, the marketing and sales agent for Atlanticaís real estate, resulted in a record-breaking sales in two months.
"The success of this first closing is extremely gratifying," said Pierre Schnebelen, president of Atlantica. "With construction of the infrastructure already on the way, and the ground breaking of the Captain's Cove Townhomes starting in January 2005, we look forward to welcoming the first residents to their new homes in December of 2005," he told the press.
