|4th Caribbean Laser Midwinter regatta
The 4th Caribbean Laser Midwinter regatta will take place in Cabarete 13-15 January 2006. Sailors from North America, Europe and of course the Dominican Republic will participate. The Laser is a one person Olympic sailboat. Cabarete, long famous for windsurfing and kitesurfing, is slowly becoming a hot spot for Laser sailing as well. This international regatta will be run by Andres Santana from the Dominican Sailing Federation and is sponsored by Ocean Dream Condos, Jack Tar Village Casino, Agua Jerico, The Windsurf Resort and EZE Bar.
|Speculation on Clinton's buying in Punta Cana
It is said that their special lot is reserved. The New York Daily News comments that the former US President and New York's senator "are so enchanted by the Dominican Republic's exclusive Punta Cana Resort that they are discussing buying a home there." The Clintons made their fifth visit to the DR for the New Year holiday. According to the newspaper, in the past, the couple has been guests of singer Julio Iglesias and designer Oscar de la Renta, but now Punta Cana insiders are buzzing that the Clintons want a place of their own. While a Hillary spokesman denied the rumor, the Daily News speculated over the holidays that a Dominican Republic hacienda could help her lock up the Latino vote in her re-election bid next year.
|Casa de Campo in Chico's catalogue
It is difficult to tell what looks better in the catalogue... Chico's clothes or the lovely sights of Casa de Campo as photographed for the Getaway 05/06 catalogue of the Spanish clothing company, Chico's? Photographs were shot from 12-15 October for the catalogue that has just been released. See http://www.chicos.com
