100K Marathon of the Caribbean
Ultramarathoner Marco Olmo is coming for the five-day, 100-kilometer run across the north coast. From 18 March to 23 March, the run was created as a trail running race in five stages. The plan is for runners to discover the wild nature of the island while running. It is part of Run of the World, the world's best stage cross-country running races.
The organizers say that the friendly and relaxed environment that marks this event allows runners to get close to the sport with the right approach in safety and good company. On the other hand, the expert and competitive athletes who will be running are given the chance to face a landscape where wild nature still rules.
The organizing committee is chaired by Mariluz Vinas.
The stages of the race will take runners from Sea Horse Ranch to Cabarete Beach, from Puerto Plata city to Isabel de Torres Mountain, from Sosua to Cabarete (Monkey Jungle, Laguna de Cabarete and Parque El Choco) and along the north coast to Las Terrenas, and then to El Moron Beach in Samana. Hotel Viva Wyndham Tangerine in Cabarete Beach is the participating hotel along with Viva Sublime Hotel in Samana.
