I just booked a flight to Panama City on Copa. I had the option of purchasing the following:

Offset your trip's carbon footprint
Your estimated carbon footprint is 240kg CO2e. Contribute to climate solutions and fund projects that reduce, remove, or avoid carbon emissions in an amount equivalent to your footprint.

It was small, a bit over $3. But still, would anyone be stupid enough to buy this?

I am not a frequent flyer so if this is something that has gone on for a while now I didn't know.

Oh yes, in Europe they choose this option quite a lot. "Saving the Planet" while china blasts out more CO2 in a single Day than all air traffic in a whole year.
You are just not BRAINWASHED yet otherwise you would have opted for it !
