Bahia Estela is located in Las Terrenas, on the un-spoilt Samana peninsula, on the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic. It is approximately ten minutes from the town center and three hours from Puerto Plata International Airport. Samana has two airports for small aircraft; the International Airport of Samana, El Catey, will be operational November 2006. The hotel is situated approximately 500 meters from Viva Wyndham Samana.

The hotel offers a swimming pool with swim –up bar, children’s pool area, kids club and currency exchange. Also available are car rental, laundry, baby sitting and medical assistance. There is a pharmacy, boutique and souvenir shop in the vicinity.

The 80 rooms are in two-story buildings, decorated in warm pastel shades and adorned with typical Caribbean furnishings: bright colors, rattan furniture and naïf paintings in cheerful colors.

The hotel offers two room categories:

Superior:
All rooms have a balcony or terrace with ocean or garden view and a queen-sized bed, sofa, bathroom with shower, air conditioning, minibar, satellite TV, telephone, hair dryer, safe and iron. Cribs available upon request.

Suites:
Mini-apartments consisting of a master bedroom with king-sized bed, a living area with a sofa-bed, kitchenette with fridge, bathroom with shower and a terrace or balcony. All rooms have air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, DVD player, hair dryer, safe and iron.

The hotel offers 3 bars – main bar, lobby bar and swim-up pool bar as well as 2 restaurants.

Bahia Estela operates under an All Inclusive modality.

The ocean front restaurant offers an a-la-carte international menu with Nouvelle Caribbean cuisine. A splendid wine list and background music make dinner even more enjoyable.

The Samana peninsula is one of the best preserved destinations of the Dominican Republic and attractions such as Cayo Levantado and Playa Rincon are perfect for eco-holiday lovers. The most popular excursion is whale-watching: the whales pass through these waters from January to March every year. Another well-liked expedition is the visit to Los Haitises National Park – 1600 square km with mangrove trees and Taino caves with rock drawings – you ride to the Limón waterfall and can enjoy the local arts & crafts in Las Terrenas village.
