Default How can a Dominican fly to the DR from Canada?

Hi guys!

I am planning to go back to my homeland the DR. I will be travelling from Toronto to POP, PUJ or LRM. I want to spend 2 weeks. I am not a Canadian and am in Canada on a multiple entry visa.

I'm wondering which airline I can travel with. I know Air Canada goes there and Skyservice and some other airlines as well.

Is it possible to fly a charter flight? If so where can I get the boarding permit?

I don't mind flying with Air Canada but I don't know if there is a more economic way. Travelling via the USA is the same price or more expensive and also requires a visa to the US which I do not have.

Before they were asking me a permit from Aeronautica Civil wich one I'm not going to spent 1 month waiting for.

Default Check out Air Transat

I was looking last summer for flights from Canada to DR without stopping in the US and found Air Transat. I don't know about now but it looked more inexpensive than the American airlines (Continental, American).

The charters we have in Canada are air transat and skyserice but I'm not too sure if you get on with the kind of visa that you have. Ask a travel agent.

Link to skyservice

Air Transat

Both say " for canadians" traveling

You can forget the USA regardless of price after the TWOV program was cancelled.

Try this URL: www.belairtravel.com for air only 1 and 2 week flights from Toronto (mainly) to the usual destinations. I would think as long as you show DR papers they will have no trouble accepting you to go there and as long as you have a multiple entry visa for here (Canada) they should also not have trouble accpeting you for the return.

Your choices are pretty much limited to Skyservice and Air Transat and you better get going as the flights start to die down a lot after Christmas. Though usually there's a few year round to LRM.

Air Canada is an option and they would have the same document rquirements so whatever's cheapest.

Anna's point I think really means for people leaving from Canada vs. "Canadians" per se.
