Default Photos - Baiguate Waterfall via Horseback

Baiguate Waterfall in Jarabacoa via horseback:

The horse stable is about a ten minute walk from the entrance of Rancho Baiguate. (Be sure to check view images in the User CP display options to avoid having to click each link.)

Upon arrival at the stable all the guides were resting.

That didn't last long when we arrived with tickets in hand. The cost was $36 USD for 4 adults, 2 small children, 4 horses, and 3 guides.

This is one of the younger guides.

This is the "senior" guide. Don't get fooled by their ages because they know what they are doing and are very good at it.

Time to mount up and head on out.

What a nice peaceful ride with some beautiful scenery.

Now I truly understand why horses need shoes!

The waterfall reminded me of some type of age healing mud pool, but none the less it was nice to see and a very nice time was had by everyone. You get a chance to take a swim but be sure to wear sandals.

After a brief swim it is time to head back.

These are the wonderful young men who work as tour guides. Some of the best mannered kids you will ever meet!

Time to say good-bye.

Default Sorry...

Sorry everyone I made a typo.

It should read "The cost was $36 USD for 2 adults, 2 small children, 4 horses, and 3 guides.

Very nice pics, BB. Brought back some nice memories! I did not take my camera with me when I did this several years ago, and have always regretted that. I love the Jarabacoa area (or at least the Jarabacoa I remember -- it's been a few years).

I've been thinking of doing a series of pic-based posts on the Green Team blog about all the natural beauty one can find/explore in the DR's landscapes, flora and fauna, in part as to remind or make people more aware (whichever the case may be) of just what needs/deserves protecting. Would you be willing to grant permission to use some of these pics for such a post?

Thanks BigBird,
I am always thankful when people post piccies of my "home from home" - What an amazing place, I have only done white water rafting in Jarabacoa, tales of skinny, weak horses put me off the waterfalls trip but they seem fine.
Wasn't the "senior guide" attentive to the kids!
Good one
Rio
