New to the site -- a bit lost?
Hello -- a very nice site with great info. My family and I are leaving the 8th to visit your lovely Dominican Republic (Punta Cana) We are so excited to visit -- I would like to take my grandson (9) fishing....anyone have any tips about the best way to go about this? We are staying at the Riu Palace, thank you for any input.

And if you do go, and get a big catch, let the captain know you wish to take the fish...it is your fish!! you did pay for the excursion, Bring it to the resort chef, they cook it up on the beach for everyone to enjoy!!
Not to mention, the resort chef will be most grateful!
I have seen some massive fish brought in!! Blue Marlin!!

I agree 100% HB. I fished Cabo San Lucas and our boat of 3 fishermen and 1 fisherwoman caught and released 6 Marlin and it was very satisfying to know that they would grow to fight another day. And besides the pictures last forever, the fish don’t.

*gasp* I can NOT imagine catching something so beautiful or large! I can understand your desire to turn these magnificent creatures back to the sea, amazing. Thank you for sharing your pictures….If my 9 year old grandson even sees one of these I’ll never get him to leave DR. *very big grin* Again, thank you!
I am watching the weather I hope your beautiful country is out of harms way.

Lapurr,
who wanna eat blue marlin bro??
bad meat and you may hinder a good female from breeding,
Aross,
nice pictures, we appreciate o get them,
but the one where the little(and that's a baby) blue one gets borded to take pictures is a bad one, hold them aside, take yhe pictures while the mate takes the hook off, and all will be just fine for a release to stay alive.
