Default Healthcare jobs in the DR?

I'm thinking about an extended visit to the DR, 6-12 months, and I'd like to work for part or all of that time. Does anyone have information on the licensing requirements for nurses or nurse practitioners in the DR? Also, are there work restrictions for foreigners? And what would be the best websites to locate healthcare jobs? Lastly, any info on approximate salaries and the taxes would be helpful.

thanks

I know of nurses who get about 4,000 RD$ in a private clinic in Nagua.

Such an income is exempt from taxes as can be seen here:
DGII - Direccion General de Impuestos Internos

While nurses are well paid and sorely needed in the US and Canada, in the DR they are at the very bottom of the food chain at hospitals and clinics.
There is an incredible scarcity of really trained RNs in the DR but those that did graduate have either emigrated or left the profession.

this is not something you could live on in your current situation.

I know a nurse that gets 8000 pesos in Monte Plata, private clinic.

That's US$246. At such high amount I don't know if that is tax free too.
