Default Exploding Diet Pepsi 2 liter bottles

I am watching tv and all of a sudden there was a noise like a gunshot and then I was showered with diet pepsi.

This is the second time that a bottle has exploded for no reason, as it happened about 6 months ago as 1 two liter bottle of diet pepsi was on the conveyor belt at the Playero and it exploded there as well showering everyone within a 3' radius.

There is no plastic shrapnel when they spontaniously explode just a hole in the bottle with a black spattering of evidence and now a destroyed piece of furnitue and there was even a drop on my keyboard 7' away.

I will stop drinking diet pepsi but I have some lemons arriving soon and I hope that the 2 liter bottles of tonic water don't also explode or I need to find a safer purveyor...!

I am not talking about a frozen 12oz. can of a frozen soda I am talking about a 2 liter bottle that is on the shelf and without reason suddenly explodes.

It took me an hour to clean this mess and now i have to take another shower

Last month I purchased a 6 pk of 2 liter bottles of Pepsi from PriceSmart. One exploded sitting on my kitchen floor. It was never opened and the bottom was blown out. The next day another bottle exploded. I put the rest of the bottles outside and they were fine. Went to the corner grocery store and he said he had several Lg Pepsi bottles explode in his stock. The one thing I did notice was I never had Pepsi before that was so carbonated, it was great, but what a mess it made........

Well if we are going to laugh about this i can hijack my own thread.

I have a delancer box and pay extra for the fox channel so I can watch the NFL playoffs and sure enough the only channel that worked today was my fox channel with no other programming available from delancer.

Resources and contingecy plans are paramount....

Could it be the room temperatute?
We had a watermelon on the kitchen counter that jut exploded.
It was a typical hot June day in DR.

Another example of "Quality Control" in the D.R.

Perhaps they were "Fake" bottles of Pepsi, like they do with drugs.

we sell peKsi in the farmacia and it regularly breaks - i would not cann it explosion as such, the bottom just gives in. same with red rock. buying from peKsi themselves so not fake, i hope.

It was my son Aroa who noticed it, but certain brands of local plastic beverage bottles are getting thinner. Here is Las Lomas de Azua we buy KolaReal which is a good buy at RD$50 for a 2 and a half liter bottle.
