Question Dog Kissing:Dangerous to your health

The fact that Jan is an admitted dog kisser and someone suggested that PIB may be into this sport brings a relevant question> Is dog kissing in Dominican Republic safe?

I would like to hear from experts in the field, doctors or veterinarians in the board who can address this issue. Here are a few concerns:

1)Dominican Perros Hueveros o Vira Latas, more commonly known in America as stray dogs are a different breed from all dogs. The Dominican breed eats everything from feces to plastic. Their main source of food is garbage cans. Each Huevero marks his territory,or garbage can, and watches the garbage with jealousy. They specialize in knocking off the garbage can and pilfering the plastic bags to select their meal. Every form of spoiled food and material is stored in the bags. They also eat from the street trash and drink polluted water from the sewers. They suffer from all types of skin diseases and carry many parasites and fleas.

2)Your dog, however trained and cared for will be in mouth and body contact with Dominican stray dogs no matter how much you try to avoid it. This contact will bring about transmission of fluids. Dominican Hueveros are part of neighborhood "gangs". I saw a dog herd of about 30 on Luperon Avenue organized in such way that they would cross the street together. No neighborhood is exempt from having Hueveros. My neighborhood has a group of 10.

So, considering this, is dog kissing in the Dominican Republic safe?Is it safe anywhere?

Question Kissing dogs in the Dominican Republic

Dear TW,before you begin a "relationship" with a Dominican dog,or any dog, here are some things you should consider!Since "Ancient Times" dogs have been used to clean open wounds! The mouths of dogs,as well as some other mammals, contain a natural "Anti-biotic"!The "licking" of infected wounds by dogs is not considered harmful! Now,the more important question is,"Should you "French-Kiss" a dog,and if so,after how many dates?"Also is "Inter-Species" dating acceptable? Is the dog having "unprotected" sex with multiple partners? Species? Are you having "unprotected" sex with multiple partners?Species? Doctor Joyce Brothers,in her book:"Everything you should know before having "unprotected" sex with animals",states that both "Partners" should have a blood test for HIV (Aids) anti-bodies,before starting an "Inter-Species"sexual relationship! Also, that the relationship should remain "exclusive" to prevent the spread of disease!Well,TW,there you have it!I suggest you should only "French-Kiss" any dogs you find attractive,an try to keep any "sexual"relationships "intra-species"!Criss Colon

Thumbs up

Dog saliva can harbor bacteria that can be harmful. In most cases, however, bacteria that survive in dogs cannot survive in (and thus harm) humans. This is true with parasites as well.

I wouldn't be kissing every stray pup you see, but doggie kisses from your own family member, should be no problem.

Your dog is very much at risk when coming into contact with stray dogs. Strays in DR are notorious for harboring parasites, including ectoparasites such as mange. Also, there is ringworm (which is actually a fungus) that people can get from skin contact.

I am not sure how high the risk of rabies or Leptospirosis is in DR, but they are zoonotic (transmissable to humans) too. Dogs would display behavioral signs of illness with those, however.

Angry Why would you kiss a dog anyway?

We men had to worry about where the girl's mouth has been before she showed up for the date, now we have to worry about if she has been sticking her tongue in her dog's mouth who has been licking his Ba**s or some other dog's a**.
Thats another reason why I go out with dominican girls only, this way I only have to worry about if she has been with another guy before she showed up for me.
Is there such a thing as tongue condoms?

Wink Tongue condoms

AZB:

I believe regular condoms can be used with girls that kiss dogs. Of course, the size of the condom depends on the size of the tongue. Be sure you push the right side out, or else you can get short-tongued. After taste is a problem and if lubricated your tongue can get very slick.

For instance, Hipolito Mejia, who says he is not running for ree-election, yet he is again pushing legislators thru his cabinet members to keep the constitutional reform alive, while continuing to use every forum to deny he is running, should use a large size condom for his tongue.

Virgilio Bello Rosa, the States Attorney who denies there was any bribery involved in the release from prison of the Ecstacy Queen deserves a large tongue condom too.

Vice-President Milagros Ortiz Bosch should get a small tongue condom because she never said anything for or agaisnt the re-election issue. On the one side she did not want to offend Hipolito by going agaisnt it and did not want to appear as if she was for it, because she would go contrary to her mentor Jose Francisco Peņa Gomez and her party.

Of course, a dog would be more in need of protection from these people who can be infected with a disease called Double-talk.

Hi TW,

I appreciate very much your concern in my health. It is good to know that someone out there cares for me. Wondering if that would include paying my hospital bill if the time arrives?

I have to tell you that I no longer have a dog. Pib is living with my parents after he made a stunt and escaped making me run all over the neighborhood after him, and being that I live in a street with heavy traffic we were both lucky we didn't get run over. My parents have a huge backyard and he loves my mom. But I still think of him as my puppy.

Going back to your concern, no, I never kissed my dog. It's ok to me if other people do, but I don't. But considering the behavior of many male members of the human species and the chances of contracting a deadly disease from one of them, kissing a puppy doesn't sound that bad, huh?
