Default Filming Porn

Is filming porn in the dominican legal? I know that people have done it there, but am uncertain about the legality of such...

Default Thanks, but...

I read through the thread that you referenced (and that was tough, btw), however my situation differs in that I do shoot hard core porn rather than soft core stills. Perhaps Fabio can comment relative to the legality of this activity, and to any other related laws (ie, obscenity) which may come into play.

Expect a lot of interest.... in this thread. Are you going to be recruiting local talent for the film? I reckon you'll get a lot of male volunteers from amongst the old hand DR1ers. In fact, some of them could probably give good directoral [sic?] advice and keep an eye peeled for the local gendarmes at the same time.

Best, P

Hard or soft core, I'd be very worried about getting the right mix of youthful looking ( for the audience) but actually LEGAL actresses since the ID is atrocious and minors can look pretty much like adults.

And the money lure will throw any resistance out the window. Best of luck with actual doucmented evidence of legal age for the USC.

BTW Luscious Latinas #9 (by Devils Angel Films I believe) is actually shot in Boca Chica and in a Cabana in SD. Maybe they can tell you as producers how well the documentation went.

I only saw the DVD to see if I recognized anyone and /or the hotels. Yes to both, quite interesting as a result. Normally I wouldn't watch such stuff.(*)

If all the "actors" are consenting adults, filming pornography is not illegal.

Default Pasha, Rick and Fabio

Pasha: Thanks for your input. Yeah, I'll brace myself for the likely rush of DR1 volunteers. However, that's putting the cart way ahead of the horse at this point, as I'm just in the fact finding stage now....

Rick: Yes, and there have been others who have produced (filmed) porn in the DR as well. As they were not all Europeans, I'm assuming that the ID req'mts were satisfactorily met. In other words, some form of gov'mnt issued ID was submitted. Obviously, fake ID's are a concern, particularly if the producer is prosecuted, and not the girl. On the US side, producers are typically not held liable, provided the ID appears legitimate - as in the highly publicized Traci Lords case.

Fabio: Thanks for the clarification. Any chance of being prosecuted under some other statute (ie morality)? Any comments re the above?

Remember they will at best have one piece and at worst that one piece will look OK (or perfect) and will be phoney as a $3 bill. Nobody will have 2 pieces (like a passport) who will do this, IMHO.

For totally prurient interest, what's the titles of other flims/DVD's? It is fun to see locations or people you recognize. (Ones with locals not Europeans as you say, that is).

Rick, 2 forms of ID are not required per USC, title 18, sec 2257. The origins of this 2 ID req'mnt, have actually come from the content buyers, who are just trying to double cover their asses. If this was an actual req'mnt, it would be difficult to find ID compliant girls even in the US, not to mention abroad.

As for the dominican ID. As long as it's gov'mnt issued and not bought somewhere, it should be usable. Provided that no obvious tampering/duplication has occurred. I would
imagine that most of the Haitians in the DR
would have passports on them...

You might want to check out dexterhorn.com. Think that he did something in BC...

There is a huge industry in the DR in manufacturing fake ID's. You can even go to a Gov. Office and pay a guy to make you a "Legal" fake ID.

Most of the Haitians in the DR are in the country illeagally. They will not have any ID. If they do it is most probobly fake.
