Default Cremation in Santo Domingo

Not really sure this should be in the "living" forum!!!!!!!!!!

I know cremation is not widely used in DR but I do know that cremation is undertaken in Santo Domingo.

Can anybody enlighten me as to the cost of the procedure?

I paid around $45,000 pesos in April of this year at Blandino in Santo Domingo, I have to say they were excellent, probably the best Dominican company I have dealt with.

According to this, the Catholic Church was opposed to cremation until 1963, and then further relaxed the rules in 1997.

How silly of me. Of course, being the good Catholic that I am this makes sense.
