I realize this has been covered before, but I thought this article was worth seeing.

HIV and AIDS figures
El Caribe carries details of a national survey on health, which has found that more women than men are living with HIV/AIDS in the Dominican Republic. The highest incidence is in the east of the country, in the provinces of La Romana, Higuey and El Seybo, and over half the population do not believe themselves to be at risk. The most vulnerable to infection are the poor and young people living in areas of high urban concentration. On a national level the incidence of infection is 1.1%, while in the bateyes, it is potentially as high as 12%, says the survey. Maria Castillo of USAID's "Health and Population" project said that "overconfidence is risk", referring to the fact that many people polled were unaware of the risks of contracting the virus. The survey also highlighted the stigma of HIV/AIDS, with 35% of those interviewed believing that sufferers should keep their condition a secret. Only 60% thought that people with HIV/AIDS should be allowed to attend school.

You need to look at the Numbers deeper Mary.

The Eastern Part of the country's numbers are higher is because that is where the haitian Cane cutters are.
Do I need to explain the sexuality of haitian males for you.

The entire country is 1.1 %!!!!!! Out of that 1.1% take out the homesexuals, Addicts, Haitians and females and what does that leave you? 3 people?

Your numbers just prove that heterosexual males have nothing to worry about when it comes to HIV

First let me repeat:I do what I want to do! You can do what you want to do!

Using the "HIV/Aids" issue to futher ones own "agenda",be it moral,religious,homophobic,economic,racial,or whatever is just wrong!Not to mention STUPID!

I will never advocate "Un-Protected" sex with multiple partners! Never have!

Many uneducated/uninformed people(Mostly Women) tend to think that having sex with prostitutes is the highest risk sex possible.They Want to believe this for a number of reasons.If a man goes to a "Prostitute" he therefore doesn't love his wife.She is therefore "lacking" something.Their mothers taught them(or Nuns!) that sex out of "wedlock" is wrong,a sin! That sex is for procreation.Prostutution,is a threat to the Family"!What better "Ax" to bash prostitution/Sport Sex than the fear of AIDS!

Men love sex,with or without love,and we "sometimes" know the difference!!Get over it! I love it!!!You don't! So what?

Don't make it about me,look inward!

I know that there are 21 year old men,with hard bodies,model good looks,hair,and a "Hardon" that lasts for days out there!He is 100 times more sexually atractive than I am!!!(Ok "AZB" 1000 times!)But I am not losing any sleep over it! More power to him! I still get my share,so go get yours! Stop trying to rain on everyones parade!I see a 60 year old with a 17 year old,I wish it was me! I don't say "How Disgusting Is That?"

No one is trying to change you CC or anyone...But as soon as you mention AIDS people get defensive..You do not have to defend your behavior..really as long as it is NOT my daughter I could care less..I was not trying to bash you as some believe..I was merely stating my brother in law is alot like you...no offense intended...

Tony: That's a ridiculous statement...What about haitian's sexuality? Please explain, because I don't know that haitians do anything different than Dominicans when it comes to sex...other than being uneducated about the HIV threat...AND how would a white, elite class card member holder like yourself know the haitian sexual habits? Or have you had some haitian sugar in the past?

Do you really believe that hetetosexual males do not get HIV? Any one with a pinch of common sense can see that it is not just a homosexual and female problem...What about countries in Africa where the incidence is as high as 40%? Are all these people gays and females?

The fact is AIDS is a terrible, incurable disease. I've seen it first hand. I also don't agree with the 1.1 percet figure. I take as reference the town where I'm from. Small town, not touristy at all, not many haitians around. I personally know at least 5 people (all guys, supposedly heterosexuals) who have died from it - including one of my best friends. I think the figure is way higher, especially when you consider that most people do not go and get tested and a lot of others die and their families cover it up and pretend they died from something else, because of the stigma attached to the disease.

I don't care what people do with their life. If you want to have unprotected sex, then that's you problem, but please don't make such misinformed statements. I for one, will not have unprotected sex with anyone other than my wife. I will not have sex with prostitutes or girls that have been around the block too many times. If the girl is suspect (as in easy) then I wear two condoms...Hell I'm wearing a condom right now!

What you,and most other North American,Western European women, see as sex crazed men screwing young prostitutes day and night is just a normal day for a man in the DR! There is a whore house,car wash,bar,massage parlor,strip club,"No Tell Motel" on every corner of Santo Domingo.Sex in the DR is like "Fast Food" in the USA! It is every where,cheap,good,satisfies you,and kids start young!I think it is "LUNCH TIME"!!!!!cc

Well I have to admit we have had some firsts lately and I like to take the time to give out awards:

Award #3 goes to Criss Colon for admitting HIV/AIDS is a problem in the DR . . and even refered to it as an epidemic (kudos for that).

Award #1 is unfortunatly on hold, we are reviewing our records to see how many time when Criss mentioned his own personal sexual fun he also mentioned putting his "helmet" on, or about the danger of STDs or other issues. :laughing: stange, I remember
