La Sirena in Puerto Plata

I have it on good authority !! Wooo hooooo. They have a large lot right on the Malecon just down from what was the Swiss Gardin. The lot is being cleared and apparently there are some issues with people who have built on the back of the lot illegaly.....

two questions.

1. Will have the grocery store as well like in santiago?
2. What ever happened to the rumor that Wallly World (Wal-Mart) bought it?

Yes they will have the grocery store and it is planned for - I believe - Oct 2008 opening.... not totally sure on that one.

La Sirena is a very large Department style store with a huge grocery store attached. In many ways it is one stop shopping.

I am told that they are in negotiations with Walmart.

Wall-Mart in fact did purchase la Sirena for a wooping $800,000,000 USD!!!!
