Default Las Ballenas Escondidas ?

Hello,

We had maked reservations for Tropical Lodge, but we have been informed that this is not longer a hotel.

Our reservation is transferred to Las Ballenas Escondidas.

Can anybody tell me something about this hotel ?
What is the exact location, it is in Los Naranjos, i can not found it on any map.

Thanks

Tropical Lodge told me they are booked through December 2008. I find that interesting. We liked their location.

But in a nice case of serendipity, we booked in El Marinique in Las Galeras, owned by DR1's AndyB. After several PM's and emails, we're REALLY looking forward to staying with them.

Las Galeras is a beautiful place, and a pleasant ride to SB de Samana and other places on the peninsula.

I was waiting to see if anyone reply, this place should not be divulge to general public, maybe I should stop.

The place is pass Gran Bahia in Los Cacaos on the way to Las Galeras, on the right hand side, French own and operated. Perfect place for land base whales observation, need good binoculars.
Las Ballenas Escondidas - Bienvenue - Welcome - Bienvenida
Hotel las Ballenas Escondidas - Whales - Whale Watching - Ecotourism. A nice, quiet, small Hotel with beach in Samana Dominican
Pictures on the web site don't do justice to the place, in reality is 10 times nicer. Shhh....don't tell anyone.

Cobraboy,

Next time you are in the area, pay them a visit, will cost you a few minutes of your time, nothing else, and then make a comparison to other places on the Peninsula.

Default more Hotel Las Ballenas Escondidas info

Hi, a quick introduction. I am the new webguy for Hotel Las Ballenas Escondidas. Sorry about the site as it is, I'll have the new one up very shortly.
I have been a DR1 visitor for a few years and have always enjoyed this site and all the info from the folks on these boards, but finally figured I'd register and get a bit more involved now that the Hotel has asked me to build the new site and WebDev has leaked the 411...lol
Yes the Escondidas (hidden) part of the hotel's location is not a joke. It's really easy to get to out of Samana, but you could drive by the entrance if your not careful. Follow Webdev's directions and look for the sign.
For cjk and Talo01 and anybody else that's interested, I will have the new site running very shortly, but for the time being, here is a link to a Flickr page with some recent pics of the hotel and facilities.
I'll try to keep an eye out here for any more questions about the hotel.
On a personal note: I have stayed at the hotel a number of times. It's always been a great visit. The hotel owns a number of newer "four wheeler's" and motorbikes to either rent and explore on your own or use on one of the many tours offered to guests. The hotel also offers whale watching tours launched from their private beach.

thanks,

hbwebguy
