Punta Cana to Santa Domingo

I needed some assitance. We are planning on visiting some family in Santo Domingo and we're thinking of taking the bus instead of renting a car. Does anyone know where we would get a bus, cost, and time frames?

The bus station (parada) is next door to the Politur (Police Station) near the "Friusa" crossroad where the Texaco station is located. The buses are express, Bavaro-Santo Domingo. Departures are 7-10 am and 2 - 4 pm. The fare is around RD$ 230. The trip is about 3.5 - 4 hours. Be sure you request the express-because local traffic buses share the station with the express. Note: The express coach departs from the left side of the terminal as you face it from the street and the ticket office access is on the left side of the building. Seating is first come first serve, arrive at least one half hour before departure time.

Thank you everyone for you help. PJT, can you reccomend the best time to travel and do you know if the express bus makes any stops at all?

Anytime within the schedule is OK. I would suggest to avoid the 4 pm coach because it would arrive after dark in the Av's Max Gomez/Juan Sanchez Ramiriez area. The bus makes a convenience stop in La Romana.
