Not all that much rain on the north shore.
They should come out okay.
In Santiago, there is a steady cool breeze from the east, no rain, for once. Sun peeked out for a tiny bit.
Banks closed at noon???
Perhaps a little too weary with the new front coming through.

IF the CNN reports are even close to accurate, this is a serious smack in the face for the "authorities" --such as they might be-- since they are only talking about 1/4 that number.(25,000 displaced)....typical government spin on everything.

One of the threads of last night´s news was the fact that no government assistance has been seen at most of the sites.

Like I said on Monday, this will get a lot worse and a lot uglier.

I know what you mean.
Even the Sat pix are looking good right now, but I don't dare post them, for fear of jinxing us.

I heard the birds too, but maybe even they have been fooled. I also saw the brightening, but just now the clouds came back and it's darkening up again. More is coming!!!!

Here in Higuey, there was a very strong downpour that lasted about an hour. I mean I have not seen so heavy rain for a long time. After about an hour it stopped and did not rain agaon. This morning there is some sun and streets are dry.

Great reports on this thread.

For future reference, if anyone is interested in reaching a broader audience as well during these dramatic events, feel free to post an free iReport with CNN. They do add a bit more in-depth info to whatever is being reported, and may assist in areas that aren't being covered at all.
