La Catalina Hotel in Cabrera was one of the nicest properties I have ever stayed at. It is located on a mountainside with views of the ocean from every room. The hotel sports two pools, tennis, billiards and gardens that will knock your socks off. Beaches and golf are only 10 minutes away. The restaurant was wonderful and breakfast and Dinner will included in my inexpensive package. Go to www.lacatalina.com and see for yourself.

Enjoyed a week vacation last November. It was simply wonderful and exactly what I was looking for. Gorgeous ocean view, two pools, tennis, free shuttle to the best Golf course, Playa Grande, and very friendly staff. The food was wonderful, I am a vegetarian and the chef went out of his way to accommodate my special needs. Great place to chill out!

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful week at La Catalina. We were met at the Puerto Plata airport by a friendly Domican named Rudy bearing a cooler of bottled water and Presidentes for the 1 and 1/2 hr ride to Cabrerra and this beautiful hillside hotel. We booked here because of its proximity to Playa Grande golf course(another beauty). We were transported daily to the course, picked up after our round and dropped by the beautiful Playa Grande beach and then picked up for a return to LaCatalina for a shower, coctails and dinner. I can't say enough about how pleasant the whole staff of this Hotel is. The grounds are beautiful, the breakfast with fresh fruit and juice, eggs cooked to your liking, wonderful Domican coffee, make it a great place to wake up in. Dinner is two choices, great desserts, ambience and helpful employees to aid you in making the next day as memorable as the one you have just experienced.

I stayed at La Catalina for a week starting on 05/06/2003. What a place! If you're looking for R&R this is where you want to be. I laid out by the pool and enjoyed the most wonderful gardens and weather you can imagine. One day I went down to Playa Grande in the resort bus to have fresh lobster and Presidentes on the beach all for less than $15 US (there were lots of Presidentes).
One day I took a tour to the national park and I was amazed at the sites. I'll be back, I'm saving my money.
