Cirque Eloize in Santo Domingo & Santiago
Canadian group Cirque Eloize brings its acrobatic theater performances to Santo Domingo and Santiago.
Rain, the show, takes us back to the innocence of childhood through a theatrical circus. The circus is "animal-free", following a tradition that was born and established in French-speaking Canada by the creators of Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Eloize.
Enjoy the show by Cirque Eloize that focuses on a nostalgic yearning for childhood years and images from past memories. The acrobatic theater performance is written and directed by Daniele Frinzi Pasca.
The shows in the Dominican Republic will take place on 17-21 August at the National Theater in Santo Domingo, and 27-28 August at the Gran Arena Cibao in Santiago.

Making golf carts in the DR
The high cost of importing golf carts and lightweight tourist transport vehicles, primarily for inter-resort transportation, got entrepreneur Pablo Pineiro of Grupo Pineiro (of Bahia Principe all-inclusive hotels) thinking it made sense to manufacture them locally. The company plans to invest US$20 million in the new manufacturing plant. The new factory would employ around 400 people, making it a plus for the local economy.
Grupo Pineiro says that it already employs 10,000 people in its local hotels.
The new tourism vehicles would be sold to all hotel companies locally and could also be exported.
Pineiro says that in a first phase they would manufacture seven different models of the Turiscar. See a photo here: www.arecoa.com/index.php/Transportes/transporte-turistico-nueva-apuesta-del-grupo-pinero.html

Toribio said that 4,000 Chilean tourists vacationed in the DR last year.
