New advertising campaign
The Dominican Ministry of Tourism's 2013 Advertising Campaign is aimed at boosting tourist numbers to the country in 2014. The campaign, an extension of the previous "Has it All" initiative, introduces adverts for popular destinations like Puerto Plata, La Romana, Samana, Santo Domingo and Punta Cana. The campaign was developed and implemented by BVKmeka, the Ministry of Tourism's United States and Hispanic marketing agency.
The ads are designed to inspire travelers by showing them activities and attractions specific to each area, eventually portraying the Dominican Republic as a country where tourists can "have it all."
"Dominican Republic is a diverse destination that prides itself on offering unforgettable trips to travelers with varying interests," says Ministry of Tourism Marketing Advisor Magaly Toribio. "The 'Has it All' campaign highlights the destinations' unique offerings and entices travelers to visit or return to explore a new area of the country, as each region provides an experience like no other."
The new advertising can be seen on Go Dominican Republic on YouTube.

Investors headed for Punta Cana for CHICOS 2013
The HVS Caribbean, Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) and Caribbean Tourism Organization 2013 Investment Conference is being held in Punta Cana from 6-7 November. The event also has the backing of the National Hotel & Tourism Organization (Asonahores). This is the first time the two leading regional tourism organizations come together with HVS to produce the region's premier event to discuss opportunities for hotel and resort investment, development and acquisition.
The conference will take place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana. Organizers expect more than 1,000 participants from abroad and the Dominican Republic, including representatives of leading hotel chains.
"The Dominican Republic needs to attract more tourism investments to meet the goal of 10 million tourists set by President Danilo Medina, and this conference is a step in that direction," said Asonahores president Luis Emilio Rodriguez.
The local advisory committee members are Simon Suarez, a former president of the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association and member of the board of directors of Asonahores.
Parris Jordan, HVS director general for the Caribbean and executive director of CHICOS, highlighted that this is the first time that HVS has partnered with CHTA and CTO to organize the conference. He said the plans are for the event to be held every year, merging with the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference previously organized by CHTA.
Now in its third year, the HVS Caribbean Hotel Investment Conference and Operations Summit (CHICOS) is providing a productive forum to address issues pertinent to the current needs of the Caribbean hospitality sector and opportunities for investors in the region.
HVS is the world's leading hospitality consulting and valuation firm. CHICOS 2013 follows the HVS tradition of organizing major hotel conferences around the world, including the NYU Hospitality Investment Conference in New York and annual conferences in China, India, South America and Mexico.
